Descripción

Estetrol is a naturally occurring steroid hormone that is produced in the ovaries and placenta. It has been found to be a potent inhibitor of HIV-1 replication in vivo, although it does not prevent HIV-1 infection. Estetrol can be used as an active antiretroviral therapy. It has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with basic protein, 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, and polymerase chain inhibitors. Estetrol also inhibits ubiquitin ligases and has been shown to have therapeutic effects against metabolic disorders and autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes mellitus.
