Descripción:Etofenamate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the production of prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation and pain. It has been shown to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators, such as histamine, from mast cells and eosinophils in vivo, as well as decrease skin cancer and cell leukemia in vitro. Etofenamate also inhibits polymorphonuclear leucocytes and lymphocyte transformation. Etofenamate is a glycol ester with a carboxylic acid group at one end, which is metabolized into an alcohol form. These active metabolites are excreted in human serum after oral administration.
