Descripción:Epinastine HCl is a drug that belongs to the class of histamine H1 receptor antagonists. It is used in the treatment of allergic symptoms such as hay fever and chronic cough. Epinastine binds to DNA, which prevents the binding of benzalkonium chloride, thereby inhibiting its adsorbing activity. This mechanism may be responsible for its anti-allergic effects. Epinastine also has bronchoconstrictor properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit neurokinin-1 receptor and eosinophil cationic protein release from human blood cells in vitro.
