Ethylurea is a water-soluble drug that has been used for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. It is a low molecular weight compound with a molecular weight of 208. It has a hydroxyl group at the methyl end and a fatty acid tail. The mechanism of action for ethylurea is not completely understood, but it is thought to be related to an enzyme activity in the cell membrane. Ethylurea has been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of chlorambucil, including rapid absorption and distribution, high protein binding, and metabolic activation by liver enzymes. This drug also binds to DNA and RNA, inhibiting transcription and translation respectively.
