Ethylene carbonate can be synthesized by the reaction of hydrogen fluoride with ethylene oxide or from the reaction of phosphorus pentoxide with ethylene glycol. It has been shown to have good chemical stability, transport properties, and film-forming properties. Ethylene carbonate is also an excellent surface methodology for the production of particles or films. This glycol ether reacts with hydroxyl groups in the presence of a catalyst to form polyethylene glycols. !--
