Descripción:2-Ethyl-3-(methylthio)pyrazine is a high concentration odorant. It has been used in the manufacture of coatings, plastics, and rubber and as a component of synthetic rubber. The chemical can be extracted from air or other gases by a process called headspace analysis. This process can identify the presence of quinoxalines and sulfate ions in the sample. Microextraction is another technique that can be used to extract 2-Ethyl-3-(methylthio)pyrazine from an air sample using activated charcoal or an ion exchange resin.
