Ethyl (3,5-Difluorophenyl)(Oxo)Acetate is a chiral molecule that is used as a chemical modifier. It has been shown to have anti-malarial activity against the parasite Plasmodium falciparum, and also inhibits the enzyme quinine reductase. The structure of this compound has been used as a probe to study the sensitivity of amido and carbonyl groups in cinchonidine. This compound functions as an activated ketone, which can be used to make morpholine derivatives.
