2-Ethyl-4-Nitro-6-(Trifluoromethyl)-1H-Benzimidazole (2ENB) is a herbicide that is used for weed control in soybeans and other crops. It has been found to photodegrade in the presence of solvents, such as acetonitrile. 2ENB also has the ability to evolve gaseous nitric oxide (NO), which may be responsible for its herbicidal activity. The chemical formula for 2-Ethyl-4-Nitro-6-(Trifluoromethyl)-1H-Benzimidazole is CHClFO.
2ENB contains an amino group that can be substituted with substituents, such as chlorine or ethyl groups.
