1-Ethylsulfanyl-N'-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Methanimidamide is a neurotrophic drug that inhibits the cellular uptake of ATP. It has been shown to have neurotrophic effects in vitro, including increased neurite outgrowth, and is also known to be effective against chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells. This drug binds to soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) and prevents activation of the enzyme by adenosine triphosphate (ATP). 1-Ethylsulfanyl-N'-[4-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Methanimidamide has been shown to inhibit the growth of both normal and leukemia cells in culture. The activity of this drug is dependent on its concentration.
