1-Ethoxy-2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (EFT) is a chemical compound that can be synthesized in an asymmetric way through the Friedel-Crafts reaction. This chemical can be used as a building block for the synthesis of polymers with amine and ketone functionalities. EFT has been shown to have synergistic interactions with other compounds such as hydroxyl compounds and oxygen nucleophiles. The effective dose for this compound is about 60 mg/kg, which is considered low. EFT also has high solubility in organic solvents.
EFT has a hydrochloric acid equilibrium constant of 1.06 at 25°C and 0% concentration of ethyl diazoacetate, which means that it will react with HCl when it is dissolved in water. The equilibrium constant decreases to 0.33 at 50% concentration of ethyl diazoacetate, meaning that the reaction will not
