Información del producto
6-Methyl-5-azacytidine (6-MeAZC) is a cell biology research tool that is used to inhibit the activity of DNA methyltransferase, which catalyzes the transfer of methyl groups from S-adenosylmethionine to cytosine bases in DNA. 6-MeAZC inhibits the enzyme by competitive inhibition and is a ligand for the ATP binding site on DNA methyltransferase. It binds to the C3' domain of DNA methyltransferase and prevents this enzyme from transferring methyl groups to DNA, thereby inhibiting its activity. 6-MeAZC has also been shown to be an agonist for both peptides and receptors by binding to their active sites and activating their function.
