Descripción:2-Bromo-5-ethynylthiophene is a terminal alkyne that can be used as a ligand, an additive, or as an intermediate in organic synthesis. 2-Bromo-5-ethynylthiophene can be obtained by heating ethynylacetylene with bromine and sulfuric acid. It is insoluble in water and other solvents, and has two different conformations. The two isomers are distinguished by their reaction time to form the diacetate monomer. The diacetate monomer reacts more quickly than the monoacetate monomer because it has a higher energy barrier. 2-Bromo-5-ethynylthiophene can also be used in devices such as OLEDs and solar cells.
