4-{4-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-[4-(Methylsulfonyl)Phenyl]-1H-Imidazol-5-Yl}Pyridine is a modulating agent that belongs to the class of nanoparticulate compositions. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of p38, which is a mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) involved in inflammation. 4-{4-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-[4-(Methylsulfonyl)Phenyl]-1H-Imidazol-5-Yl}Pyridine inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines by microglia cells, which are cells in the central nervous system that are responsible for removing dead neurons and other cells. This drug also has been shown to suppress tumor growth in cancer models by inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis.
