Trans-1'-((4-(Fluoro-18F)phenyl)methyl)-4-phenyl-(1,3'-bipiperidin)-4'-ol is a radioactive diagnostic agent that is used to visualize the pancreas. It binds to cholinergic receptors and emits positron emission tomography (PET) signals that are detectable by a PET scanner. Trans-1'-((4-(Fluoro-18F)phenyl)methyl)-4-phenyl-(1,3'-bipiperidin)-4'-ol has been shown to be safe in humans, with no evidence of adverse effects on cell function or amines. This compound has also been shown to have an uptake in the pancreas and exocrine glands.
