Descripción:Fluprostenol is a prostaglandin that binds to the nuclear receptor PPAR-α, which regulates lipid and glucose metabolism. Fluprostenol also inhibits the production of leukemia inhibitory factor in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. It has been shown to possess antimicrobial activity against gram-negative bacteria and eye disorders. Fluprostenol has chemical stability, with a half-life of about 2 hours in human serum, which makes it suitable for use as an ophthalmic preparation. Fluprostenol has properties that are similar to other prostaglandins, such as low potency and pharmacokinetic properties. The LC-MS/MS method is used to measure fluprostenol concentrations in plasma. This method can be used for sample preparation with low potency compounds because it separates compounds based on molecular weight and not polarity or solubility.
