1-Fluoro-4-iodo-2-methylbenzene is a chemical compound that has been shown to be useful in the preparation of organic compounds. This chemical has been used in the synthesis of pyridones and quinolone inhibitors. Raman spectra of 1-fluoro-4-iodo-2-methylbenzene have been recorded for a number of different solvents and show that this chemical does not have any significant spectral changes with solvent. The thermodynamic data for this compound shows that it is stable in water at a pH range of 4 - 8, but hydrolyzes readily under acidic conditions.
