4-Fluoro-3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid is a synthetic chemical that is used in Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. In this reaction, 4-fluoro-3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid acts as a catalyst for the coupling of aryl or alkyl halides with organic or inorganic compounds containing a suitable leaving group. The reaction was discovered by the Japanese chemist Akira Suzuki in 1979 and has become an important tool for organic chemistry because it allows access to many types of compounds that are difficult to synthesize directly.
