It has a boiling point of about 130 °C (266 °F) and is soluble in water, chloroform, ethers, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, and xylene. 4-(4-Formylphenoxy)benzaldehyde can be processed at temperatures up to 150 °C (302 °F). The chemical structure of this compound consists of an aromatic ring with two phenol groups and one formyl group. It reacts with hydrogen chloride to produce 4-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzaldehyde. This compound's dipole moment is 2.6 Debye which means it has a strong attraction for water molecules.
