Descripción:Ferric glycerophosphate is a form of iron that is used as a nutritional supplement in the treatment of iron deficiency. It is a ferrous salt of glycerophosphoric acid, which is found naturally in plant tissue. Ferric glycerophosphate may be taken orally or intravenously and has been shown to have antiviral properties against human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and papilloma virus. Ferric glycerophosphate also has some beneficial effects on the pancreas and skeleton, although its exact mechanism of action is not yet known.
