This synthetic molecule can be used as a starting material for the preparation of other compounds. 6-Fluoro-2-methylquinoline has been shown to be cytotoxic against leukemia, breast cancer, and colon cancer cell lines. It also inhibits protein synthesis in these cells, which may lead to apoptosis.
