4-Flouro-5-isopropyl-2-methoxyphenyl)boronic acid is a chemical reagent that is used in organic synthesis. It has been shown to have high selectivity for coupling reactions. This compound can be used for the synthesis of 4-fluoroanilines, which are common industrial chemicals. 4-Flouro-5-isopropyl-2-methoxyphenyl)boronic acid also has been shown to catalyze the iodination of aromatic compounds. The compound can be synthesized by hydrolysis of 4-(difluoromethoxy)phenylboronic acid with sodium hydroxide and water or lithium chloride and water. This reagent is used in organic synthesis as a replacement for potassium tert butoxide, which is less selective and more expensive.
