3-Fluoropropan-1-ol is a fluorinated organic compound that has the chemical formula C3H7FO. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature, with a boiling point of 175°C and a density of 0.878 g/mL. 3-Fluoropropan-1-ol is used in the production of industrial chemicals such as perfumes, pharmaceuticals, and photographic chemicals. It can also be used as an intermediate for other organic compounds. 3-Fluoropropan-1-ol contains three functional groups: one carboxyl group (-COOH), one hydroxyl group (-OH), and one fluorine atom (-F). The molecule has two conformational orientations: the E configuration, which is shown in the figure below, and the Z configuration. In the E configuration, there are intramolecular hydrogen bonds between atoms H and F; these are not seen in the Z configuration
