3-Fluoro-2-methylphenol is a bioisostere that has been shown to modulate the activity of the triazole ring in a number of biologically active molecules. 3-Fluoro-2-methylphenol is structurally similar to the azetidine and amine functional groups, which are found in many coagulation and blood clotting inhibitors. This compound can also be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of 1,5-naphthyridines, which have antiplatelet properties. The structural formula for 3-fluoro-2-methylphenol is shown below.
