3-(4-Fluorobenzoyl)-1,1,1-trifluoroacetone is a crystalline compound that has been synthesized by condensing sodium hydroxide with 1,1,1-trifluoroacetic acid. It has shown biological activity in cancer cell lines and cancer cells. 3-(4-Fluorobenzoyl)-1,1,1-trifluoroacetone is a good inhibitor of DNA synthesis and is effective against dimethylamine and pyrimidine-3-carboxylic acid. The compound also undergoes saponification to form 3-(4-fluorobenzoyl)acrylic acid and cyclisation to produce 3-(4-fluorobenzoyl)benzoic acid.
