Descripción:
1-(2-Furyl)propan-1-one is a carbonyl compound that is used as a model system for the study of reactions of carbonyl compounds. It can also be used to prepare a sample for analysis using a flow system. This compound reacts with tyrosinase to form reaction products. The hydroxyl group on 1-(2-furyl)propan-1-one reacts with furfural, forming an acylhydrazone and releasing volatile oil. The reaction mechanism of this process involves the formation of an intermediate carbinol and dehydration, which results in the formation of an acylhydrazone and release of volatile oil.
