Descripción:
Cefoselis is the active ingredient in Cefoselis sulfate, an antibacterial agent. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to its active form, 5-formylamino-1-(2-formyloxyethyl)pyrazole (5FAFP). This drug has been used for the treatment of urinary tract infections and sepsis. In vitro studies have shown that 5FAFP inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA.
