Fmoc-O-tert-butyl-D-threonine is an ion pair that is synthesized using an asymmetric synthesis process. The molecule has been shown to have antiproliferative effects in animals and humans and can inhibit neutrophil function. This synthetic compound has a glycan (a carbohydrate) attached to the side chain, which may be important for its biological activity.
