N-alpha-Fmoc-Nim-methyltrityl-L-histidine (NMT) is a solid phase peptide synthesis reagent that can be used to introduce the NMT group onto an amino acid. It is typically used in peptide synthesis to protect the amino group of histidine. This reagent is often used in combination with diethylamine, imidazole, piperidine, and dichlorodimethylsilane for peptide synthesis. NMT is also useful for the introduction of a methyltrityl group onto an amino acid during solid phase peptide synthesis.
