Descripción

Fmoc-2-aminobenzoic acid is a serine protease inhibitor that blocks the activity of neutrophil serine proteases. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of oral pathogens in mammalian cells by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial proteins required for adhesion. Fmoc-2-aminobenzoic acid also has antioxidant properties and is synthesised from two cheap and widely available starting materials, anthranilic acid and citric acid. This compound may be useful in treating bacterial infections, such as those caused by Helicobacter pylori, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or Staphylococcus aureus. Fmoc-2-aminobenzoic acid has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
