Fmoc-4,4-difluoro-L-proline is an antibacterial that binds to the bacterial cell wall by competitive inhibition. Fmoc-4,4-difluoro-L-proline has been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory bowel disease and other inflammatory diseases, such as traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer's disease.
