Descripción:5-Fluoro-2-methoxypyridine-3-carboxaldehyde is a synthetic analog of the natural product ursolic acid. It is an antibacterial agent that has significant antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria. 5-Fluoro-2-methoxypyridine-3-carboxaldehyde binds to the bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, inhibiting their function and leading to cell death. This compound also inhibits the production of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid in some bacteria, which may lead to the development of resistance.
