1-Fluoro-3-iodobenzene (stabilized with Copper chip) is a chemical compound that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA). It binds to the active site of uPA, thereby preventing the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, which is required for the digestion and degradation of blood clots. 1-Fluoro-3-iodobenzene (stabilized with Copper chip) has anticancer activity and may be a potential therapeutic agent for cancer treatment. The mechanism of inhibition is currently being studied.
