4-Fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity in the bioassay. It is synthesised by reacting 4-fluorobenzaldehyde with trifluoroacetic anhydride. In a spectroscopic analysis, it has been shown to exhibit a strong absorption band at about 256 nm. Single crystal x-ray diffraction techniques were used to determine the molecular geometry of this molecule. The functional theory was used as the theoretical basis for modelling and analysis of vibrational and electron density distribution on the surface of the molecule. Surface analysis was then conducted using various techniques such as XPS, SERS, and Auger spectroscopy. The molecular electrostatic potential theory was also studied in order to understand how 4-fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzaldehyde interacts with other molecules and surfaces. Diffraction data showed that this molecule adop
