Descripción:4-Formylphenoxyacetic acid is a molecule that has been studied by molecular modeling. The molecular modeling study revealed the geometry of the protocatechuic acid molecule, which is a phenol that has an oxygen atom in its ring structure. Protocatechuic acid has a tyrosinase inhibitory activity and can be used as an anticancer agent. It also inhibits the production of melanin and can be used to treat skin discolorations or hyperpigmentation. 4-Formylphenoxyacetic acid was synthesized by using homogeneous catalysts and it is active as a serine protease inhibitor. This compound also has diphenolase activity, which is an enzyme that breaks down phenolic compounds such as lignin, a major component of plant cell walls.
