Fmoc-sec(Mob)-OH is a synthetic, cyclic peptide antibiotic that has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in animal models by binding to fatty acids. It is synthesized on a solid phase and contains four amino acid residues. Fmoc-sec(Mob)-OH inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the ribosome and inhibits fatty acid synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme acyl coenzyme A synthetase. The compound also binds to ligands, such as lipids and proteins, which may be responsible for its antitumor effects. Fmoc-sec(Mob)-OH has been shown to exhibit a high inhibition rate of tumor growth in animal models, with minimal toxic effects on healthy tissues.
