6-Fluoro-benzo[d]thiazole is an anti-inflammatory drug that has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins. 6-Fluoro-benzo[d]thiazole inhibits cholinesterase activity in vitro, but has no effect on other enzymes, such as aminopeptidases or phosphatases. It also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in culture. 6-Fluoro-benzo[d]thiazole is synthesised from piperazine and amines or anilines with a functional group on the aromatic ring (e.g., nitro, carboxyl). The cytometry assay used to identify its effects on fibroblast cells was performed by adding a known amount of 6-fluoro benzo[d]thiazole to each well of a 96 well plate containing cell culture media.
