4-Fluorocinnamoyl chloride is a chiral, constant, and fluorescent dye that has an affinity for cinnamic acid derivatives. It can be used to differentiate between the enantiomers of cinnamic acid derivatives. 4-Fluorocinnamoyl chloride has been shown to have potent anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo. It has also been shown to induce apoptosis in cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. The antioxidant potential of 4-fluorocinnamoyl chloride may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals and protect cells from oxidative damage.
