Descripción

2-Fluoroadamantane is a reaction product of 2-fluoroaniline and hydrogen fluoride. The mechanism of the reaction is similar to that for the other fluorination reactions in which a halide is substituted for hydrogen. This compound has been shown to react with nucleophiles such as pyridinium chlorochromate, form stable complexes, and act as a decoupler agent in NMR spectroscopy. 2-Fluoroadamantane can be used as an intermediate for organic synthesis or it can be converted to 2-fluoroadipic acid by hydrolysis and oxidation.
