6-Fluoro-8-Quinolinamine is a steric factor that inhibits the growth of fungi and bacteria. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with dextrose against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Verrucaria species. 6-Fluoro-8-Quinolinamine also has an inhibitory effect on 2-amino-5-fluorophenol, which is a chemical compound that can be found in chlorine. This active form of 6-Fluoro 8 Quinolinamine prevents the synthesis of chitin in fungi and bacteria, leading to cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis.
