4-Fluoro-3-Nitrobenzamide is a molecule that has significant activity in the treatment of trypanosomiasis. It belongs to the class of hydroxyalkyl amides and is introduced with the pharmacokinetic technique monitoring. 4-Fluoro-3-Nitrobenzamide inhibits mammalian cells by binding to DNA, which leads to inhibition of cell growth and cell division. The drug's inhibitory potency is due to its hydrogen bond interactions with DNA bases. 4-Fluoro-3-Nitrobenzamide has also been shown to be effective in treating trypanosomiasis in mice, where it was found to be more potent than melarsoprol, an agent used for the treatment of African sleeping sickness.
