It has been shown to have high cytotoxicity against Hepg2 cells and to inhibit transfer mechanisms, such as nucleophilic attack and acid catalysis, in caco-2 cell cultures. 2-(4-Fluorophenyl)pyridine has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells in the presence of light.
