Descripción

3-[(4-Fluorobenzyl)Oxy]Benzaldehyde is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) that has been shown to selectively inhibit the MAO-A isoform. It has been studied for its neurodegenerative and neurotoxicity effects in a number of different animal models, including mice and rats. 3-[(4-Fluorobenzyl)Oxy]Benzaldehyde has been shown to cause both selective MAO inhibition and the accumulation of monoamines in the brain, leading to neurotoxicity. In particular, it can lead to an increase in dopamine levels and subsequent oxidative stress. This compound has been shown to be effective as an antidepressant in animal studies.
