Flurocitabine is a cytotoxic drug that is used in the treatment of cancer. It inhibits the activity of DNA polymerase and topoisomerase II, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of DNA. Flurocitabine has been shown to be effective against inflammatory diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, and infectious diseases, such as HIV. Flurocitabine has also been shown to stimulate estrogen receptor modulators and fatty acid synthesis in vitro. Clinical studies have shown that flurocitabine can be implanted into c57/bl6 mice for slow-release delivery.
