9-Fluoro-17,21-Dihydroxy-Pregn-4-Ene-3,11,20-Trione is a potent mineralocorticoid that is used to diagnose both congenital and acquired forms of adrenal insufficiency. This drug acts by increasing the synthesis of aldosterone and hydrocortisone in the adrenal glands. It is also used to treat Addison's disease and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. 9-Fluoro-17,21-Dihydroxy-Pregn-4-Ene-3,11,20-Trione has been shown to be an effective treatment for patients with myeloproliferative diseases who are resistant to vinblastine or colchicine. The drug binds to the proenzyme form of plasminogen activator (PA) and induces its conversion into active plasminogen activator (PA).
