Liriope muscari saponin C is a saponin from the roots of Liriope muscari. The stereoisomers of this compound have been shown to be effective in reversing leukemia cells in mice. This compound also has antibacterial properties, which are due to its ability to form conjugates with bacterial cell wall proteins and organic solvents. Furthermore, Liriope muscari saponin C has an anti-inflammatory effect that is mediated by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
