Descripción:Gitoxin is a protein analog that has been shown to increase the strength of heart tissue. It has been shown to be effective in treating congestive heart failure, which is characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath and fatigue. Gitoxin also inhibits inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Gitoxin is a growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of human serum cells, with an effect on basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF). Gitoxin has been shown to have cardiac effects and may inhibit cardiac arrhythmias by binding to the papillary muscle. There are kinetic studies that show gitoxin binding to the cardiac potassium channels and activating them.
