• Descripción: H-D-Glu(Trp-OH)-OH is a synthetic peptide that has been shown to inhibit the replication of the herpes simplex virus (HSV). It binds to toll-like receptor 3 and 4 on cells, which may inhibit HSV replication. This compound has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of HIV, as well as hepatitis B and C. H-D-Glu(Trp-OH)-OH has been shown to cause lung damage in mice. The mechanism for this effect is unknown, but it may involve an increase in reactive oxygen species or other cell signaling pathways.
