Descripción:Glutarimide is a potent antitumor agent that has been shown to inhibit c-jun phosphorylation, leading to a reduction in locomotor activity. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties, as it inhibits the production of IL-10 and IL-12 cytokines. Glutarimide is an amide with a hydroxyl group at the C3 position and a hydrogen bonding interaction at the C4 position. It binds to DNA by forming hydrogen bonding interactions with guanine bases. The glutarimide molecule has been shown to have strong binding affinity for histidine residues, which are important for protein folding. This chemical may be used as a model system to study protein folding and chemical biology.
