H-glu-OBzl is a synthetic diamino compound that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial siderophores, which are important for the survival of bacteria in an iron-deficient environment. H-glu-OBzl is active against gram-negative bacteria and has been shown to inhibit uptake and transport of β-lactam antibiotics by gram-negative bacteria. This compound also has antibacterial activity against Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, which is resistant to β-lactam antibiotics.
