Descripción:Glutinone is a mixture of fatty acids that is extracted from the seeds of the plant Jatropa curcas. This extract has been shown to be effective in the treatment of metabolic disorders, such as hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus. Glutinone also inhibits the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in rat brain cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme GABA transaminase. The synthesis of glutinone has been achieved by an asymmetric synthesis using p-hydroxybenzoic acid as a chiral auxiliary.
